1. Summary

This describes all the cables and accessories for the system. Note that some diagrams are using the old names -- KTR/CH17 KBO/CH18 KPS/APS

The studio board input for KBO is CH 15
The studio board output for KBO is currently from the Distribution Amp, but is planned to be the board MONO2 output

2. Not yet ordered

  • RAM for KPS (Andy's computer) - 8G or 16G high quality
  • USB Backup Drive (suggest on KPS). Recommend Western Digital My Book 4TB

3. Studio Board Audio Cables

Plan 0

The Studio Board Output (A) goes to a Distribution Amplifier (B). This feeds the Transmitter System (C), The Studio Headphones (D) and the Stream Computer (E).

The Distribution Amplifier output (B) is also connected to a Line/Headphone Amplifier (F), which feeds the INPUT of the KBO/CH15 USB Audio Cards (G). The OUTPUT of the KBO Audio Cards go into the Studio Board Channels 15 and KTR to CH17.

4. Studio Data Cables

Plan 0

The computers KTR/CH17 (A) and KBO/CH15 (B) communicate with each other through an 8-port GB LAN switch (C)

The computers only have a "Media" plug. They use dongles to convert to other formats. If KTR/Ch17 is run "headless" then we connect to theMonitor (D) with two different cable types.

KTR/CH17 (A) has 2 USB extension cords (E) to the work area , usually to attach a keyboard and mouse.

KBO/CH15 (B) - the Studio Board Operator computer- has one USB cable to a USB Dock (F). The keyboard and mouse would usually be plugged into this. It will be capable of charging a cell phone. We may also have a direct USB cable, for anything that doesn't work well through the dock.

Note: In the 1/19/22 proposal KTR will have its own monitor, Keyboard and Mouse.
There is a KVM Keyboard/Video/Mouse switch, but this won't be used right now.

5. Desk Layout

Plan 0

The original plan was to have KBO and KTR co-located. But I now propose KBO should be in the work area, so its CD can be accessed.

6. Power

Since the power requirements are low, all systems are on the Backup power system (battery and generator)
